Our Six-Step Process
Here at On the Green, we specialize in a supremely effective six-step process. This program is based on organic principles of lawn care, with organic fertilizers and poly-coated slow-release products as the mainstays of our lawn care services. Liquid weed control products also minimize the presence of these invasive pests. Pre-emergent weed control typically occurs in March or April.
Step two involves the application of spring fertilizer and weed control sprays. This phase typically begins once weeds have started to sprout throughout May and June. At this point, we do our best to ensure that those stubborn Maryland weeds won’t come back later on in the summer.
Step three utilizes summer fertilizer substances. They are formulated for peak performance during June and July. This process maintains the color and density of your lawn. It also helps the turf develop more robust root systems to survive the extreme heat. Although it is optional, we also offer to deploy Surface Insect and Grub Preventative solutions.
Step four is fall fertilization. However, it doesn’t commence until late summer and early fall. Expect to see it happen between August and October. During this time, we emphasize and accelerate the root growth of existing and seeded lawns. You can also take advantage of our Core Aeration and Seeding Service. This type of lawn care service focuses on controlling weeds. Likewise, it promotes the germination of tall fescue seed that flourishes during this season.
Step five uses winter fertilizer. The prime season for this process happens during October and November – the bulk of the fall months.
