Gambrill State Park
Just over an hour west of Gambrills, Maryland, Gambrill State Park is separated into two areas: Rock Run and High Knob. From the three stone overlooks atop the 1600-foot High Knob, you can view Frederick and Middletown Valleys, as well as the Shenandoah Mountains. High Knob also holds The Tea Room, a native-stone building built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930’s, complete with kitchen, dining room, and two restrooms. The building is available to rent from spring to fall, and holds up to 55 people. The Rock Run area provides a campground and small cabins available for reservation.
